Single Summit Trips

Single Summit Day Trips For Everyone

We offer a variety of single day summit trips that are suitable for everyone.

These single day events run in the Brecon Beacons, Snowdonia National Park and The Lake District.

Our go to favourite single summit days include Pen Y Fan in the South of Wales. This is generally a one day trip if you’re based in the South West of England with no overnight stay required. There are a variety of routes to the top of Pen Y Fan which makes it a great option for all.

Next up is Snowdon. Located in Snowdonia National Park in the North of Wales this really is the Jewel of Welsh mountains.

With 6 different routes to the summit, a timeframe of 4-6 hours is usually allowed for. Because of the ascent and descent time associated with Snowdon we often advise a single night stay. This allows plenty of time to get to the summit, take on some food and drink to then descend at a comfortable pace. Once back to the meeting point we make our way back to the accommodation to freshen up and have an evening meal ready to depart home the next morning.

Now we come to the Lake District in England where we have a variety of options to cater for more single summit days!

Scafell Pike is the highest mountain in England but closely behind by only a few meters is Helvellyn. There are 3-4 routes to the top of Helvellyn with its most notable being via The Striding Edge. This achievable scramble with escape paths located either side of its ridge is a great option for those looking for a slightly more technical path to the summit.

Lastly is Scafell Pike its self situated near Wasdale in the Lakes. This is a great day out that offers views as far as the eye can see with plenty of changing surroundings from the start to summit. There are 3 obvious routes to the summit with 1 being slightly more technical than the others. It must be said that good visibility at the top is rare!

All of our Summit Days require no technical climbing skill but it is advantageous to have done some walking and have a good general level of fitness to make the experience as enjoyable as possible.
